Dated 1816. Rusticated bell-shaped gable shaped well with large ball finial; carving of traditional ferry boat set within recessed triangle to upper part of well; spout hole to middle; indentation for former trough centred below. Tapered and rounded sides of random rubble.
B-group with Pump and Plaque, which are located directly behind the Waterloo Well (see separate listing). Strategically located at the bottom of The Brae, the Waterloo Well was reconstructed from an existing well in the same position to commemorate the Battle of Waterloo. Used mainly for watering horses and washing coaches, it was also the chief supply of water into the village prior to the introduction of Glensherup water from the Ochils, piped-in from 1883.
