Later 18th century. Square single storey domed icehouse by River Tyne, random conglomerate rubble. Oblong groin-vaulted main chamber to S with internal door to narrow N chamber. Flagstone floor on massive stone joists.
Apparently identified as "Force Pump" on estate plan of 1870s, the history of this structure?s use could bear further investigation. (Information courtesy of John Woolman, Haddington).
