Original part 3/4 storey Z-plan with square towers.
Large circular staircase tower occupying w. re-entrant
angle of S.W. tower. Rubble-built. Late 16th century with
alterations of 1626 tower raised with dormers and slated
ogee capping. Large addition, 4-storey with swept dormer
heads at 3rd floor, 5-storey corner tower, Leadbetter and
Fairley, archts., c. 1890. Fragments of barmekin, fitted
with gates, wrought-iron, R.S. Lorimer, archt., 1895.
