Description

Mid 19th century, burial enclosure for the Stewarts of Garth. Rectangular rubble enclosure at the west end of church, partly railed. Coping finished with thin upright slabs. Birdcage bellcote of previous church preserved within.

Statement of Interest

The bellcote probably dates from the reconstruction of the old church in 1821, very similar bellcote at Dull by Charles Sim, 1819.

Re-categorised as C(S) from B for Group (2006). The listing relates specifically to the group interest of the subject. It applies, as always, to interior as well as exterior, as appropriate to building type.

Listed building record updated in 2021.
