Description

Hugh Baird, engineer circa 1820. Long low 2-storey, rectangular-plan stables and cottages. Cream sandstone rubble with droved ashlar dressings.

S (FACING CANAL) ELEVATION: 12 asymmetrical bays at ground, 6 doors including 2 single storey advanced porches 2nd bay from right and left, blocked window 3rd bay from left. 8 asymmetrically placed windows at 1st floor, 3 blocked.

E (SIDE) ELEVATION: gabled return with stone forestair.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: 2 windows at ground; 4 at 1st floor.

W (SIDE) ELEVATION: forestair with iron balustrade.

Boarded windows. Grey slate roof, brick stacks to gables.
