Description

Probably of 19th century origin. Large, dodecagonal-plan game larger. Ashlar base, rustic timber piers, gauze-covered openings, facetted slate roof with timber finial.

INTERIOR: shelved throughout, tie beams with travelling carcass hooks.

Statement of Interest

The structure was repaired in 1993 following extensive storm damage. The style of the game larder is similar to the Bavarian summerhouse at Brodick Castle, also listed; both properties were formerly owned by the Dukes of Hamilton.
