Description

Earlier-mid 19th century, with later alterations. Single storey 3-bay T-plan Regency style cottage with cornice and deep projecting eaves. Cream droved sandstone with ashlar dressings; stop-chamfered angles. Door at centre (Flush-panelled, 2-leaf with rectangular fanlight) flanked by tripartite winodws. Single bay return elevations; door slapped through to modern lean-to conservatory to S. 2-bay range to rear with modern porch and door to S (and later box-dormer).

Timber, border-glazed diamond-pane windows now all replaced (bar one) by modern windows. Piended roof; boarded soffits; grey slates; coped brick diamond stacks to front; coped octagonal ashlar stack to rear.

Statement of Interest

Sited proninently on roadside. There is a small piend-roofed rubble store to the S, with garage door slapped through. There was a nursery immediately to the N in the 19th century, so this may have ben the nurseryman's house.
