Description

Earlier 19th century, single storey, wide 2-bay cottage;

rubble, tooled ashlar dressings, all whitewashed. Off-centre

door masked by modern porch with side entrance; single small pointed-headed window to right of porch, and 2 similar

windows in south gable, all with lattice pane glazing (wooden astragals); renewed end stacks; piended slate roof. Simple

drystone wall encloses garden plot.

Statement of Interest

Unusual fenestration. Cottage might once have served as gate

lodge to Hempriggs House.
