Early 19th century incorporating earlier fabric. 2-
storey, 3-bay farmhouse; double-pile, 18th century house
enlarged and re-orientated in early 19th century.
Squared whinstone rubble, stugged dressings, eaves
course. Random rubble sides and rear.
Door to centre, raised architraves and bracketted
cornice. Windows flanking at ground. 3 smaller windows
at 1st floor.
Original farmhouse to rear; entrance through later
gabled porch, windows flanking at ground. 2 widely
spaced windows at 1st floor, high under eaves.
Irregular window pattern to gable ends. 12-pane glazing
pattern to sash and case windows.
Steep pitch to roof of earlier house, grey tiles, small
skylight. Straight skews, ashlar coped stacks. Straight
skews continued as base course to broad corniced ashlar
stacks in later range.
Rubble coped retaining walls, square ashlar gatepiers to
NW with pyramidal caps, wrought-iron gates with
cast-iron finials.
Farmhouse originally overlooked steading. Steading
listed separately.
