Description

Mid to later 19th century. 2-single storey symmetrical rows
each of 3, 3-bay cottages. Rubble whinstone with droved cream
ashlar dressings.
S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATIONS: each cottage with consoled pentice
canopy to door at centre with flanking windows. Panelled
doors with small-pane upper panels. Numbers 1 and 2 merged as
one with former doorway to number 2 disused and window
shutters added.
N (REAR) ELEVATIONS: harled, flat-roofed, outbuildings added
in late 19th century. Blank end gables. Small-pane glazing
pattern to sash and case windows at S; variety of glazing to
rear extensions. Harled gable end and mutual gable stacks.
Grey slates. Regular small skylights.

Statement of Interest

Listed C(S) for survival as regular form and importance

as early Improvement cottages. Farmhouse listed

separately.
