George Sked and Thomas Hannan, 1828, probably
incorporating earlier building. Gabled rectangular plan
single storey mill, much altered by conversion for
residential purpose. Red sandstone rubble; stugged
ashlar dressings.
N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: symmetrical, 5-bay, doorway at
centre with high windows in flanking bays.
S (LADE) ELEVATION: 5 windows as above. Undershot water
wheel and cogged dam gate machinery retained but
inoperative.
E GABLE: tall window at centre.
W GABLE: 4-part French window inserted.
Diamond pane glazing to N and S casement windows.
Crowstepped gables with beak skewputts. Grey slates.
Ridge stack.
Crowstepped gabled, pantiled single storey range sited
to N, with much altered openings to S elevation,
formerly serving as stable and timber yard. Single
storey gabled 2-bay cottage to W of mill by lade, much
altered, probably the Miller's Cottage. Neither
included in current listing.
