Description

Farm complex with buildings from 18th century to late 19th
century.
Farmhouse: probably 18th century, single storey building,
rendered, re-roofed with slate, dormers inserted and N wing
added later 19th century. Byre and Dairy range to west area
1800 single storey, partly double pile, now mainly domestic.
Threshing mill range: early 19th century, rubble built with
tooled, long and short ashlar dressings, single storey with
tall loft. 2 cart bays with loft over to north, central
threshing barn with machinery in tact and linked to large,
breast-shot water-wheel (probably later replacement) at rear.
Additional storage bays to S with 1 later slapping, 1 blocked
door on gable end. Piended, slate roof. Lade on west side of
Mill running from rubble horseshoe dam and mill pond N of
B818.
Double byre and detached stable to north; probably late 19th
century with stone trevises.

Statement of Interest

A good example of a farm range showing various agricultural

improvements taking place during the 19th century.
