Description

John Kinross, circa 1902. Asymmetrical roughly cruciform plan
2-storey range with steeply pitched crowstepped gables.
Random rubble, contrasting tooled ashlar margins and
dressings. Regular fenestration in set back elevations of
varied S front; multi-pane glazing. 2 large entrances slapped
in gabled N elevation with one original garage entrance with
double leaf doors and original hand-wrought iron hinges.
Forestair at NE angle serving N gable 1st floor doorway.
Square leaded louvred ridge cupola at W; stone slate roof.

Statement of Interest

Generator House sited immediately to NE of stable range and

forming part of that building group. It appears on the 1905

2nd ed OS as 'Electric Light Works'.
