Description

Late 18th century, restored mid 20th century. Lengthy run of terraced, single storey, 3-bay cottages to the N side of the Brig o' Balgownie (see separate listing). Granite with pantiled roofs. 12-pane glazing to timber sash and case windows. Brick stacks with clay cans. No 9 is 2-storey.

Statement of Interest

Part of a B-Group with Brig O Balgownie (see separate listing). Important grouping of early terraced industrial workers cottages located to the N side of the Brig o' Balgownie. A noteworthy early example of a comprehensive restoration scheme in Aberdeen.

Change of category, 1988. Statutory address updated to reflect changes to street addressing, 2010. Previously listed as '23, 25, 27 Balgownie Road and 7, 8 Bridge Terrace (S. Side) and 29 Balgownie Road and 9-20 (All Numbers) Bridge Terrace (N. Side) Cot Town, Bridge of Don'. The Brig O Balgownie is also part of a separate B-Group with buildings in Don Street on the South side on the river.
