Description

Late 18th century with late 19th century addition to rear. 2-storey, 3-bay hotel. Whitewashed with painted margins and a Roman Doric columned doorpiece. Pantiled roof. Sundial on W skew end dated 1848. Addition to rear with angle bay, slated.

Statement of Interest

The Guardbridge Hotel is a good example of an 18th century classical building characterised by its Roman Doric doorpiece and symmetrical principal elevation with steeply pitched roof. The building sits adjacent to Old Guardbridge over the River Leven (see separate listing) contributing to the group interest and wider riverside setting.
