Description

1861-65. Blyth and Blyth appointed engineers, 1863. Single track multi-arch railway bridge (now pedestrianised), in skew form over river and with curving N approach, arches continuing over road and to higher ground. Bull-faced masonry with ashlar dressings and intrados. All arches segmental. Tall piers with bull-nosed cutwaters. Saddle-back coping to low parapet with modern railings.

Statement of Interest

Running into Montrose Parish, Angus, and neighbouring earlier road bridge (1770-75), listed separately. Now no longer in railway use.
