Description

1620, much overgrown and roof ruinous. Rubble-built with
vaulted lower portion, skewputts, curved outside stair to former
laird's loft above, with doorhead raised in roof. Fragments only
of arch opening into church at N. gable.

Statement of Interest

Strichen Parish was formed in 1620 from parts of Rathen and

Fraserburgh and a church and the surviving family burial aisle

built by Thomas Fraser of Strichen. Constituted 1627,

disjunction confirmed by Act of Parliament 1633.
