Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey with attic and basement, L-plan hotel. Painted render. Base course; blocking course; quoin strips; margins to windows.

SE (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: steps to central entrance; 2-leaf timber door with decorative fanlight; single window aligned above at 1st floor. Small openings at basement to flanking bays; regular fenestration to ground and 1st floors. 2 canted dormers at attic.

SW (NORTH CRESCENT) ELEVATION: 2-bay. Small openings at basement; regular fenestration to ground and 1st floors. 2 canted dormers at attic.

Plate glass timber sash and case windows. Grey slate piended roof; corniced ridge stacks; circular cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1997.

Statement of Interest

Prominent example of earlier 19th century architecture with sundial to centre of SW (North Crescent) elevation.
