Description

Early to earlier 19th century. Single storey, 3-bay cottage, with outbuildings' set-back and adjoined to N and S. Painted rubble.

W (A 712) ELEVATION: window to each bay.

S ELEVATION: lower gabled outbuilding, with window in gablehead, adjoined at centre and to right.

N ELEVATION: lower gabled outbuilding, with window in gablehead and window to W, adjoined at centre and to left.

Fixed glazing; 6-pane to W, 4-pane to outbuildings. Red sandstone coped skews and ridge. Painted rubble gablehead stacks to cottage. Graded grey slates.

Craigdews is shown on the OS Map of 1849. It is listed as an unaltered example of a traditional dwelling.
