Description

Paul Waterhouse. Early 20th century Coursed hammer-dressed pink sandstone with polished ashlar dressings. Baronial 2-storey T-plan lodge, west gable front has single-storey mullioned bow of 5 lights, mullioned 3-light over with curving hoodmould, keyblocked circular attic vent. Arched keyblocked entrance porch on left linked with gatepier. North elevation towards drive, small porch portico with Roman doric column, half glazed, gable on left and tripartite bay on ground floor, similar to front gable above; Circular turret with conical slated roof and finial north-east angle, belt 1st floor level. Rear lean-to swept into main roof. Slated roofs with red tiled ridges, skews and central stack. Small-paned metal-framed glazing. Gateway 2 tall square ashlar gatepiers with checked angles and cornices, arched foot-gate to left balancing arch of porch, stepped down with scroll to lower curved wing wall to third gatepier on road.
