Description

Probably early 19th century. 2 rectangular blocks
forming S and W sides of court, enclosed by walls to N
and E. Red rubble sandstone with ashlar dressings and
some droved stones. Purple slate piend roofs.
W RANGE: 2 widely spaced bays to W; segmental-arched
carriage entrance at centre, flanked by doorway to
outer right and window to outer left, with additional window
flanking; 3 square hayloft windows under eaves.
Doorway (now blocked) with hayloft window above on S
side, and gabled brick projection on courtyard side.
S RANGE: single storey, raised by circa 2'. S side
largely blank. 2 12-paned sash and case windows to W
end elevation; courtyard elevation with 2 later windows
inserted at centre and sliding machinery doors; bothy
door to outer right with hayloft window above blocked;
2 doors to outer left with window flanking and hayloft
window above. Brick lean-to addition to outer left.
Coped rubble walls of walled garden to N and E.
