Description

Circa 1900. Tall 2-storey school in free Renaissance style,

with full-height 3-storey shallow flanking wings. Stugged

and squared yellow rubble and polished ashlar dressings

on bull-faced off-set plinth. Rectangular-plan main range,

grouped windows with blocked margins and keystones, band

course between floors, continuous mutule cornice, occasionally bracketted: wings have smaller windows, cornice raised in

semi-circle over round-arched panel of upper central window

on east and west elevations (west window with columned

mullions); parapet; open porch at north end of wings, each

with 2 round archways and tall keystones. North elevation

has 4 inner windows, shallow balcony between floors inscribed

"Busby Public School". Low-pitched slated roof.
