17th cent house. 2 storeys. 3 bays wide. Harled string-course. Moulded arch and pilasters to doorway which is flanked by arches.
Corbie-stepped gables slated roof. Hall in first storey now divided into two rooms. Extensive additions beginning in 1905. Rubble wall enclosing garden has arched gateway dated 1664. Braw-wall in garden.
Property formerly known as Little Caldwell to distinguish it from neighbouring estate of Caldwall in Ayrshire. It was acquired by Mares of Caldwell in 17th century.
