Description

Circa 1840. Substantial 2-storey, rectangular-plan farmhouse with classical frontage. Rubble red sandstone with ashlar dressings to sides and rear; cream ashlar S front with base and cill course, cornice and blocking course. S elevation: 3 widely spaced bays. Centre bay

slightly advanced with corniced and pilastered doorpiece, round arched doorway with deep-set door and decorative fanlight; flanking bays at ground with large windows; smaller windows to each bay at 1st floor. E and W elevations: 3-bay; 2-bays to S slightly advanced with ground floor window to right and 2 1st floor windows; bay to N with doorway and windows on W elevation, and modern window inserted at ground in E elevation. N elevation: 5-bay. Irregular bays at ground with doorway

to left, altered, flanked by window; piend-roofed outbuilding projecting at right, flanking larger window. 1st floor bays regular, comprised of round arched stair window at centre, flanked by windows in each

bay. 12-pane glazing pattern in sash and case windows. Grey slates to piend roof. Corniced stacks. Retaining wall: rubble retaining wall adjoined to house.
