Description

Later 19th century. Single storey,3-bay cottage with later additions at rear, sited at road junction, opposite church. Squared and snecked, stugged stone; chamfered reveals. Doorway at centre of E elevation, with timber bracketted gabled porch, kingpost and finial; window in each flanking bay. Catslide roof over original, projection bay at rear to left; harled modern addition to right. 4-pane glazing pattern in sash and case windows. Purple slates; overhanging eaves; coped end stacks.

Statement of Interest

Formerly served as police house, until 1957. Named Fountain Cottage because of proximity to Fletcher Memorial Fountain.
