Description

Later 19th century. Quadrangular single-storey stable court to north of Winton Castle. Squared and snecked, stugged sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings; chamfered reveals. South range: symmetrical seven-bay range. Tall gabled advanced carriage-arch at centre; depressed arch with blank panel above; three-bay cottage flank with advanced gabled porches at centre with depressed lintels and keystones; four-pane glazing pattern to sash and case windows; purple slates; gablet coped skews with consoled skewputts; stone finials to porches; shaped, coped stacks; decorative terracotta ridge tiles and cast iron eaves brackets; louvred ventilators to stable range.

Winton Laundry Cottage to east (listed separately) and walled garden to south (not included in current listings), are further components of the policies of Winton Castle.
