Statement of Interest

The building is shown as a saw mill on the 1858 OS map and known locally as a joiner?s workshop. There are remains of a large stone building to the west, and a millstone suggesting that grain was once milled here. The interior was not inspected. The bridge adjoining has 2 depressed arches, dated at keystones 17 and 63 (or 83, these figures are partially obliterated); the bridge was widened and a new parapet added probably during the 19th century and there are the modern buttresses.
