Description

Later 19th century. 2-storey 3-bay farmhouse with lower 2-storey service wing, adjoined at SE corner to farm steading. Squared and tooled grey sandstone with ashlar dressings. Base and band

course, raised quoins.

N ELEVATION: 3 symmetrical bays grouped towards centre; ashlar classical porch, pilastered with cornice, panelled door and narrow windows to returns; stone mullioned tripartite windows flanking with bracketted cills; window to each bay at 1st floor.

S ELEVATION: stair window at centre; flanked at 1st floor by small bathroom window with pantry light at ground. Window to each floor in outer bays, bipartite at ground to outer right. Lean-to greenhouse addition at centre.

W ELEVATION; 2-bay; window to each bay at each floor.

SERVICE WING: adjoined to E elevation to S. 2 bays to N with window to each floor, breaking eaves in pedimented dormerheads at 1st floor. Blankk rear.

Plate glass glazing in sash and case windows. Rope-moulded cast-iron gutters with decorateive brackets. Corniced ashlar stacks; grey slate piend roofs.

GARDEN WALLS: rubble walls enclosing garden area and adjacent to steading to S of farmhouse. Terraced lawn to N.
