Description

Pre 1805. Single storey, 3-bay (1-2) cottage, in terrace. Harled. Painted raised margins, stop-chamfered to door.

E (CREEBRIDGE) ELEVATION: deep-set door in centre bay; panelled door, with glazed upper panels, and 2-pane fanlight. Window to outer bays.

S ELEVATION: rendered above lower building, No 2 Creebridge (see separate listing), adjoined out-of-line to right.

N ELEVATION: adjoined to No 6 Creebridge (see separate listing).

W ELEVATION: window to right. Lean-to extension adjoined to left.

12-pane replacement sash and case windows to ground floor E elevation. Plate glass glazing in sash and case windows. Glazed panels to door infilled traditional door knocker. Red sandstone coped skews, concrete to NE. Painted rubble gablehead stacks, mutual to N. Graded grey-green slates. 2 large canted and piended dormer windows to W pitch. Octagonal cans.

Statement of Interest

The street of Creebridge is shown on the "Plan of Newton Stewart" of 1805. Owner advises that property was built by Shoemaker in 1772.
