Late 19th century. 2-storey, with 1st floor breaking eaves, and basement, 5-bay hotel; full-height basement on falling ground to rear.
N elevation rendered, remaining elevations pebble-dashed. Painted margins and quoin strips.
N (MAIN STREET) ELEVATION: door in bay to right of centre, with bracketted cornice and broad margins; panelled door and fanlight; modern steps oversailing basement. Door slapped between bay to right and bay to left of centre at ground floor. Regularly disposed fenestration; gabled finialled dormerheads to windows at centre and in outer bays at 1st floor; small windows in remaining 2 bays at 1st floor; windows in centre and 2 bays to right at basement. Circular plaque, depicting winged wheel with 3 initials, between ground and 1st floors at centre. Public house sign hanging between bays at centre and left of centre.
W (BANKFIELD ROAD) ELEVATION: gabled and blank. Modern extension slightly recessed to right.
E ELEVATION: gabled. Window to outer left and outer right at ground floor. Rubble wall adjoined along length of basement.
S ELEVATION: 5-bay. Dormerheaded windows at centre and in outer bays. Long single storey gabled range (former stables) adjoined in bay to right; hay-loft opening to right to W, 6 modern windows slapped to left. Modern 2-storey flat-roofed extension in bay to left. Modern low flat-roofed extension in 3 bays at centre, linking stable range and modern extension.
Plate glass glazing in sash and case windows. Red sandstone coped skews. Pebble-dashed stacks, with red sandstone bands, gablehead to E and W, ridge between bay to left of centre and centre. Graded grey slates. Cast-iron rainwater goods.
RAILINGS: plain iron railings to N.
The Judge's Keep Hotel is not shown in a photograph apparently taken in the 1880s' a single storey and attic inn formerly stood on the site.
The stable range to the rear is shown on the "Plan of the village of Glenluce" of 1840.
