Description

Later 19th century, style of J Campbell Walker. 2-storey, 3-bay near rectangular-plan former Free Church Manse. Rubble whinstone, formerly harled with grey bull-faced sandstone dressings. Long and short work to quoins and surrounds to openings; overhanging timber eaves; brick relieving arches to stairwindow to W and at ground to E and N.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: doorway in central bay; panelled door; plate glass fanlight; window at 1st floor above. Advanced bay to outer right; single windows to both floors. Single windows in remaining bay to outer left.

W ELEVATION: whinstone lean-to at ground; stairwindow above.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: 3-bay. Single windows to each bay. Outhouse adjoining between 2nd and 3rd bays.

E ELEVATION: 2-bay. Single windows to both bays; bay to right advanced. 8-pane sash and case windows. Grey slate piended roof; corniced whinstone stacks banded with sandstone, 2 shouldered wallhead stacks, 2 ridge stacks.
