Description

Late 19th century with early 20th century porch. Single storey and attic, 3-bay, T-plan cottage. Squared and snecked granite with ashlar dressings. Door to centre; elaborate projecting later addition of painted wooden porch with pilasters, round and narrow windows and cornice. Canted bays flanking at ground. 2 canted, piend-roofed, slate-hung dormers above to attic with billet moulding. Sash and case windows with 4-pane glazing pattern. Grey slates, ashlar coped skews with moulded skewputts, coped ashlar stacks with decorative cans. Low

ashlar coped rubble front garden wall with spear-head, cast-iron railings and gate.

Statement of Interest

Listed as a good example of a traditional type with fine porch and for group value. Laurelbank forms a row with Kinnairdy Lodge and Gowanlea, South Street, to the E. 51 South Street is of the same type. It does not appear on 1871-4 OS Map.
