Statement of Interest

Forest Road is built on the site of Stocket Forest, hence the appropriate name which was chosen by Sir Alexander Anderson, Lord Provost at the time. 13-19 Forest Road is one of only a few houses in the West End of Aberdeen to be built almost completely from pink granite. Details of particular interest include the bold curvilinear gables with semi-circular windows at attic floor, similar to those employed by Pirie and Clyne at Hamilton Place (see separate listings), also of note are the moulded doorways and canted windows terminating in crenellated parapets.
