Description

Style of George Washington Browne. Built circa 1880.
Elizabethan renaissance. Public hall and library. 3 storeys,
3 bays with large shaped gable to street (4th square bay to
right set forward and with gated pend to market to E). Red
ashlar; large mullioned and transomed windows with leaded
panes. Door (to left) and pend both depressed-arched and
corniced, with moulded reveals. 1st floor windows with arched
lights set between supporting Ionic pilasters on corbels
supporting entablature. Attached columns flank 4-light
(arched) windows and support pediment. Slate roof.
