Description

17th/18th century. Freestanding square dovecot; doorway
heightened with reset 1690 marriage lintel; upper part
possibly rebuilt. Rubble-built with ashlar dressings;
monopitch corrugated asbestos roof. Door on N wall (1690
lintel with chamfered edge), square hatch over, flight-holes
to 2 levels above. Stone nesting boxes at upper level only.

Statement of Interest

Marriage lintel bears initials "WG EI". Incorporated in

garden wall.
