Description

Stugged pink masonry, white ashlar dressings; 2 battlemented bowed projections to right and left; centre doorway in shallow projection has Gothic decoration, round headed windows, paired in bows, with square dripmoulds; 1 storey battlemented flanking wings, crowstepped gabled addition to extreme right; chimneys topped by ornamental "Tudor" pots. Battlemented gate piers with Gothic panels.

Statement of Interest

This building is a significant addition to the streetscape of this main thoroughfare in Ardrossan town centre. It is depicted on the 1st Edition Map as Grahame's Castle and was originally a private house.

The later addition to the right is Ardrossan Civic Centre; to the left is an Indoor Bowling Hall.
