Description

Later 19th century. 2-storey, 12-bay terrace of 2 pairs of mirrored houses. Polished ashlar (channelled at ground floor), rubble to sides. Base course; dividing band course at 1st floor parallel with block-pediments of doorpieces; 1st floor cill course; eaves course; cornice. Apron panels to 2nd floor windows.

S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: steps to central entrances of each pair of houses; paired 3-column, block-pedimented Doric porches (fluted at Nos 3 and 4); 2-leaf timber doors; letterbox fanlights; 2 single windows aligned above at 1st floor; 2 single windows at both floors to remaining bays. Bipartite flat-roofed dormer to outer right of No 3.

4-pane timber sash and case windows; modern glazing to dormer at No 3; rooflights. Grey slate roof; stone skews; gablehead and ridge stacks.

INTERIORS: not seen 1998.

GATEPIERS, RAILINGS AND BOUNDARY WALL: square-plan iron gatepiers with finials; iron railings divide boundary between Nos 1 and 2; low coped boundary wall enclosing site;
