Statement of Interest

The later 19th century Eglinton Terrace (see separate list description) was developed by following the line of buildings in Cassilis Street to the centre of the Citadel enclosure (Dodd, pp348, 359). No 5 is distinctive to Cassilis Street, being the only detached classical villa, as distinct from the terraced row of Nos 6-14 (Even Nos) opposite (see separate list descriptions).
