Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay house forming part of terrace. Painted harl. Base course. Painted margins to window openings.

N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central cavetto-splayed entrance; steps to recessed 2-leaf timber door; letterbox fanlight; single window aligned above at 1st floor. Regular fenestration to flanking bays.

Plate glass timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; stone skews; coped gablehead stacks (higher to right); circular cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.

Statement of Interest

Charlotte Street was laid out to the South side of the Citadel parallel with the North side of Wellington Square, its South side sharing a back lane (Mews Lane). The building's roofline conforms to a terrace scheme, with a near-unified roofline running from Nos 3, 7-15 (Odd Nos).
