Late 19th century; alterations by J K Hunter, 1903. 3-storey, 5-bay (grouped 2-1-2) symmetrical curved corner block with ground floor shops. Polished red ashlar to entrance elevation; rubble to sides. Cornice dividing 1st and 2nd floors; cornice; blocking course; rectangular panel to blocking course over central bay; dies to outer left and right. Wide pilasters divide bays (double consoles to frieze aligned above); narrower pilasters divide windows.
NE (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central entrances to Nos 35 (glazed modern door), 37 (timber door), 37B (glazed modern door) and 39 (glazed timber door) at ground. Regular 3-window fenestration to each upper floor bay with exception of central single window bay.
Plate glass timber sash and case windows at 1st and 2nd floors. Grey slate roof; stack to gablehead to right.
INTERIORS: not seen 1998.
The building occupies a prominent corner site forming part of an irregular square, marking the site of the medieval market area, Fish Cross.
