John Baird II, 1883. 4-storey, 2-bay, twin crowstep-gabled baronial tenement with shop at ground. Coursed and squared grey sandstone. Cornice to shop front at ground; cill course to 2nd floor. Moulded openings to windows. Square panels to gables; pierced circular pinnacle to right gable only.
W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: timber door with large square fanlight to centre at ground; recessed 2-leaf doors to outer left; modern shopfront to right; glazed entrance door to left, shop window to right. Regular fenestration to upper floors; 1st and 2nd floor windows set in slightly advanced bays; 2 small slit windows to centre of each floor; corbel table between 2nd and 3rd floor.
12-pane timber sash and case glazing to upper floors. Grey slate roof.
INTERIOR: not seen 1998.
Distinctive 4-storey, twin-gabled baronial building in the predominantly 2- and 3-storey classical section in the N of the High Street.
