Description

17th century with later alterations. Original monolithic square-plan plinth set on modern coursed base; chamfered square shaft; cornice; ball-finial.

Statement of Interest

Moved from the centre of Main Street, adjacent to the Newton Steeple (see separate list description). The cross also stood for a time, in the Newton churchyard. Inscribed "Newtoun 1675 Rebuilt 1775" (badly eroded).
