Description

Early 19th century. 2-storey with attic, 2-bay tenement with shop at ground. Painted, coursed sandstone. Base course; cornice to shopfront; eaves course; cornice; strip quoins. Painted margins to windows at 1st floor.

NW (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: recessed glazed timber door to outer right; entrance to right of shop to left; modern glazed door; letterbox fanlight; shop window to left; regular fenestration at 1st floor. central piended dormer at attic.

4-pane timber sash and case windows at 1st floor, plate glass at attic. Grey slate roof; mutual brick stack to left, mutual rubble stack to right; circular cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.

The street was developed along the lines of a lane in the 19th century, to give access to a new Butter Market on its N side.
