Description

Later 19th century. 2-storey and attic, 11-bay terrace of 2-bay houses (3-bay to No 12). Painted coursed rubble (painted render to No 8). Base course; cornice; blocking course. Painted margins to openings.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: paired houses to outer left and right; 2-leaf timber doors and letterbox fanlights to centre; side-lights to inner bays; single windows above at 1st floor; regular fenestration at ground and 1st floor to outer canted bays. Flat-fronted central house (No 12); 2-leaf timber door to left; letterbox fanlight; side-light to left; single window aligned above at 1st floor; 2 single windows at ground and 1st floor to bays to right. Single canted dormers at attic (2 dormers to Nos 8 and 10).

Predominantly plate glass and 4-pane timber sash and case windows (modern glazing to No 8, stained glass to sidelight and 1st floor window to outer left of No 12). Grey slate roof; stone skews; rooflights; gablehead and ridge stacks; circular cans.

INTERIORS: not seen 1998.

Statement of Interest

Terrace stands opposite Nos 1-17 (Odd Nos) Queen's Terrace (see separate list description), its canted bays and dormers indicative of its later date.
