Description

Early 18th century. 2-storey and attic, 5-bay house divided as separate dwellings; wings to rear with entrances. Harled rubble,

ashlar margins (some renewed). Outer bays paired; centre entrance with panelled door. 4 small cat-slide dormers, paired in outer bays. 12-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows. Slate roof; squat end stacks, at 33 shared with No 31 High Street. Access to rear through pend arch of No 39 High Street. Reset early 18th century datestones in wing to rear of No 35.

Statement of Interest

Nos 29/35 High Street restored circa l985. Early l8th century marriage stone at rear inscribed JM VF with incised heart between initials. Adjacent stone reads:- '17 James M(?arr) Violete Fraser 26'.
