Description

Erected by joint stock company 1839 onwards. Plant structures mainly stone built include:-

Exhauster House circa 1914 with condenser, probably original and plant of 1914. Retort House from 1912 with 9 hand fired horizontal retorts by Westwood and Wright Ltd Brierley Hill.

2 gasholders, original one recently rebuilt but retains early triform latticed hoisting posts. 2nd holder rebuilt 1914. Castings for water tanks under holders of early date.
