Description

1868, large mid-Victorian free-style villa. Tall
2-storey and attic. South elevation has projecting gable to
right with 2 storey three light canted bay, platformed
roof with brattishing. Open single storey porch in angle,
stilted segmental arches on naturalistic Corinthianesque
columns bearing cornice, parapet with crest and urns. Door
within semicircular arched moulded architrave with fanlight.
Left-hand bay double round-arched bipartite with architraves
converging on Corinthianesque column mullions. 2 first
floor segmentally arched windows, one over bipartite, one
over porch. Similar bipartite and first floor window in
right hand projecting gable of west elevation. Attic window
with corbelled sill, left-hand bay with bipartites. East
elevation has tall round headed window over projecting
cornice with modern door inserted beneath, and 2 other
windows to both ground and first floors. Single-storey and
attic range to east with 2 windows and bipartite dormer.
Slated roofs finialled skews and gabletted skewputts.
Velux rooflight on front elevation. Square ashlar gatepiers
with caps (missing finials) and low garden wall with coping.
Sundial in garden.
