Description

Mid Victorian free Renaissance. 3-storey ashlar corner
block with splayed angle. String courses at first and
second floors with guilloche band course below the latter.
Swan Street elevation has shop door (no 3 and 2 windows 1
corner (door of No 1 now a window) 3-window elevation above,
splayed corner 1-window set in plain pilasters with
balustraded balcony on console brackets at first floor.
Market Street elevation shops both have door and 2 windows,
5 first floor and 4 second floor windows above. Varied but
symmetrically disposed window treatment, segment-headed
and stop - chamfered outer 1st and 2nd on Swan Street, centre
and outer 1st Swan Street and 2nd and 4th at first floor
Market Street and 2nd floor of corner bay. 1st floor corner
bay shouldered rosette type with consoled cornice main
cornice plain panelled parapet between single flue
chimneys with original square-plan panelled pots. Central
wallhead chimney gable to Market Street. Slated roof. Upper
part of shop front to Swan Street overlaid by modern paccia.
