Description

1872. Large free late gothic/neo Jacobean ashlar-faced
mansionhouse. Asymmetrical 2-storey 3-bay front; gabled on
right with canted bay through both floors, platformed roof
with patterned slating and iron cresting, small, pointed
arched window at attic level; advanced central entrance bay
with depressed arch doorpiece flanked by narrow lights and
with hoodmoulded tripartite at 1st floor, small quatrefoil in
shaped gable at attic level. Slightly advanced gabletted
window to left over rectangular ground floor bay with ball
finials. L-plan flanks that on E with altered rectangular bay
similar to that on front. Splayed angles corbelled to square,
moulded windows throughout. Single-storey wings at rear.
Slated roofs, gables stepped at half their height,
crowstepped gable at back wing.
