17th-18th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, rectangular-plan house, modern single storey extension to NE. Harled; stone surrounds to door and windows.
SE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: central door; single flanking ground floor windows. 3 1st floor windows centred above, hugging eaves. Extension to right; window to left; modern garage door to right.
SW ELEVATION: adjoined to electricity substation.
NW ELEVATION: door to right; window above. 2 windows to left of door; 1st floor window above far left window. Window to left; 1st floor dormer window above. Single storey section to far left; door and window.
NE ELEVATION: plain gable.
12-pane timber sash and case windows. Shutter rebates and hinges remain. Replacement timber boarded door, replacement tirling pin. Replacement fenestration and door at rear. Pitched roof; clay pantile; gable apex stack to NE; stack shared between this and adjacent house to SW.
INTERIOR: not seen, 2001.
Typical Culross small house with harled walls, 3-bay arrangement and pitched clay pantiled roof. It is possible that there were connecting doors between this and the adjacent house (now electricity substation) as seems evident in some other Culross houses. The garage replaces a shop which is shown in early-mid 19th century photographs held at the NMRS. This property was restored in 1967.
